ROI Calculator

An ROI (Return on Investment) calculator measures the total percentage gain or loss on an investment relative to what you put in, and also converts that into an annualised rate so you can fairly compare investments held for different lengths of time.

It works for any investment — stocks, mutual funds, real estate, or a business — as long as you know the initial amount invested and the final value.

ROI is a useful first check, but it treats gains as a single lump-sum outcome rather than showing how the money grew along the way — two investments can post the same ROI over five years despite very different risk paths in between. That's why it's usually read alongside CAGR or a benchmark comparison rather than used on its own to judge an investment.
